25 Random Things…

January 28th, 2009

I’m not sure if I can do this but I’ll try.

Rules: Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you.

1. I love my husband sooooooooo much but there isn’t another human being who can annoy the crap out of me like him.

2. I secretly want to learn to play the drums.

3. I get uncomfortable with people gushing about me yet oddly pleased.

4. I have an immune disorder called myasthenia gravis that sometimes sets me back more than I’d like to admit.

5. I LOVE horses.

6. I have Morton’s toe which means my second toe is longer than my big toe.

7. I hate when people use the word ‘less’ when it should be ‘fewer.’ Thanks a lot Miller Brewing Company. It’s NOT less calories. It’s fewer. When you can count them you use the word fewer.

8. Basketball is hands down the best sport in the world. (Followed closely by hockey.) Because things can change in an instant just like in life.

9. Oh yeah, the University of North Carolina Tar Heels are definitely the best college basketball team of all time. (Maybe not but they are pretty awesome.)

10. I work out with Magic Johnson about once a week or so.

11. I’m an AMAZING mother to my two young children who are 4 and 2 but very big for their ages and surprisingly in high school.

12. I read http://www.tmz.com everyday.

13. (I’m running out of things….) I really love writing.

14. My favorite goddess is Lakshmi. She’s all about not worrying (which I do too much) and accepting everything will be taken care of.

15. My 4 year old (okay…18) is coming home soon and I’m so proud of him and his ability to draw. Tomorrow I’m meeting my ex-boyfriend who now writes for King of the Hill and hoping he’ll hook my kid up with an internship.

16. (Seriously…25 is a LOT of things to write).

17. I wear a size 9 shoe though I can fit in an 8 1/2. Shoes rule.

18. My wardrobe sizes range from 2 to 8.

19. I have the BEST VA on the planet. And NO she cannot work for you.

20. My cat loves me to death but she’s really not very friendly to ANYONE ELSE. Funny thing is I prefer my dog. Shhh.

21. (Is this still going on???) I’m madly in love with Heath Ledger and Daniel Day Lewis. Don’t see much of a future with Heath though.

22. I’m really a strawberry blonde.

23. My favorite food is Mexican.

24. My favorite color is red. DUH

25. (Thank GOD this is the last one!!!) I have a Claddagh ring as a wedding ring which stands for love, loyalty and friendship. It’s a beautiful sentiment (even if you reread #1)

Oops! I got sick!

January 5th, 2009

I said I’d give you more info on my blog about the *She Factor Copywriting Bootcamp* then I disappeared. Sure, I emailed my subscriber list the details, but some of you aren’t on that list. Truth is I got a pretty bad cold. That sounds lame, I know. But when you’re coughing up a lung and your head feels like a balloon it’s a little hard to concentrate.

Anyway, the 8 week teleseminar starts January 22 BUT it kicks off with a free preview webinar on Wednesday, January 15 at 5pm Pacific/8pm Eastern that you DON’T WANNA MISS! It’s all about how *The She Factor Marketing System* actually works. This call is content-rich. I wouldn’t dream of wasting your time. You can register here but be sure to call in early. Space is limited to 200 (and there is a ton of interest in this call!)

Oh yeah, and I’m feeling a lot better now too!

Warmly,

Lo

My celebrity dream…

December 16th, 2008

Picture this.

I’m sitting on a cozy bench in an open-air room looking out over a calm, blue ocean. Jake Gyllenhaal is standing next to me (shirtless with amazing abs) wearing a bicycle helmet. He’s making me some sort of healthy drink with nutmeg and smiling that boyish smile.

I’m not that into his concoction, but, hey, it’s Jake. So I give it a try. I notice there’s a platter of fresh carrot sticks on a table next to him that he’s been nibbling on. Jake Gyllenhaal

(Psst! In a hurry to learn more about dreams? Hop over here! Now back to the dream . . .) http://www.redhotcopy.com/dreaming101teleseminar.html

He walks over to look at the ocean and suddenly my mother is sitting next to me on the bench. I tell her I’m going to marry him. She replies, “No you’re not. You just met him.”

That was it.

Now had I not learned something about dreams from dream expert, Lauri Loewenberg, I might have been a little freaked out.

I mean for starters, I’m happily married. Why would this hunky celebrity show up in my dream? I’ve never even thought of him before. Why is he feeding me healthy things? And why did I want to MARRY him considering I’m already married?

Luckily Lauri was able to interpret it for me today. I’ll share her dream interpretation in just a minute, but first, if you want a shot at having YOUR DREAM interpreted, as well as learning how you can interpret your own, there’s still room on the special teleseminar with Lauri THIS THURSDAY!

*Dreaming 101: Everything You Need To Know About Your Dreams*
DATE: Thursday, December 18
TIME: 3pm Pacific/6pm Eastern

http://www.redhotcopy.com/dreaming101teleseminar.html

You get special treatment as a member of my Red Hot VIP Community so be sure to read it ALL. Plus you get access to a free link to submit YOUR DREAM for Lauri to work her magic on! And when you sign up you’ll also learn to understand the simple language of dreams, you can actually . . .

=> Understand your dreams so you FULLY grasp the secrets of what makes you tick;

=> Listen to your dreams as they reveal your deepest motivations;

=> Learn to recognize recurring patterns of behavior that hold you back and keep you making the same mistakes;

=> Know your subconscious and determine what (and WHO) is good for you;

=> Determine when you are on the right track, when you have done the right thing and when you’ve got that perfect idea!

So here are some of Lauri’s insights.

Because what’s going on in your life now often shows up in dreams, I let her know what happened yesterday when I was looking at the cover of the Oprah magazine. (You know, the one where she was thin and now she’s not.) And realized I’ve let myself go a little over the holidays. Not enough exercise or healthy eating.

So Jake showed up in my dream as a SYMBOL of healthier living. At least he looks healthy, exercises, and eats well (I think). Somewhere in my subconscious he presented someone who takes care of himself.

I wanted to MARRY HIM as a commitment to my newer healthy choices. Just like marriage is a commitment, so is a healthy lifestyle.

My mother showed up saying I couldn’t get married as a symbol of my FEAR I wouldn’t be able to ‘commit.’ After all, it’s tough to stay healthy during the holidays with all that yummy food around and late night parties. So I had some fear in the back of my mind.

Pretty cool, isn’t it.

The results?

I actually went to my workout studio today and am eating small, regular meals. So because I listened to my dream, I’m having a fabulously energetic day! Dreams really have to power to change your life, when you KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN.

What’s your dream? I’d love to know! Please join us THIS THURSDAY at 3pm Pacific/6pm Eastern. http://www.redhotcopy.com/dreaming101teleseminar.html

Teleseminars Are a THIRD of My Income!

December 3rd, 2008

Today as part of my Sterling Inner Circle Mastermind call I discussed (among 4 other hot topics) how to make money over the holidays. One of my suggestions was to hold a teleseminar. I gotta be honest…my entre into teleseminars was in 2004 through Coachville. Excellent overview and I started to dip my toe in the water.

Then I took Alex Mandossian’s Teleseminar Secrets and my business model totally changed. He actually has a call on Thursday, December 4 at 6pm PST/9pm EST. If you can make it, you should. I’ll be there. Register at www.redhotteleseminar.com.

Meanwhile, I can give you a brief overview of how to conduct a teleseminar. Trust me…this is BARE BONES. There are so many ways to do it wrong. Take my advice and learn from Alex.

Teleseminar Steps:

1. Decide on a topic. Think about what’s relevant. Time of year. Financial cycles. www.chases.com.
December
National Stress-free Family Holidays Month
December 1- 8 is Recipe Greetings for the Holidays Week
December 5th is Bathtub day
January
Financial Wellness Month
January 1- 7 is Women’s Self Empowerment Week
January 21 is National Hugging Day
February
Spunky Old Broads Month
February 11-17 is Random Acts of Kindness Week
February 6th is Pay a Compliment Day

a. Survey your market to find out what they want. Surveymonkey.com. Don’t waste your time on a topic they won’t pay for.
b. Select a date and time. Depends on your market but Monday – Thursday better usually. If have something from 9am to noon Pacific/noon to 3pm Eastern usually get some global attendees.
c. Decide how long the call will be. 60-75 mins fits on a CD.
d. Decide format of call. Guest or no? Q&A or no? Submit questions ahead of time or no?
e. Come up with a snazzy title. Examples: *Secrets to Getting Fabulous Celebrity Endorsements for Your Book, Your Business & Your Products* or * How To Strategically Grow Your Business Using Facebook & Other Social Media* or *Insider Secrets to Writing Copy that Sells to Women*
f. Create script for the call.
g. Get a bridge line with recording capability and practice ahead of time. Know how to mute and unmute callers, turn off entry/exit chimes, know how to record. www.nocostconference.com, www.freeconference.com
h. Write online sales letter.
i. Set up shopping cart or other payment system.
j. Write Autoresponder for purchases.
k. Write success page copy for after purchase with directions explaining what to do. Can be the same copy as Autoresponder.
l. Write promotional copy for ezine, blog, social networking groups.
m. Write affiliate copy if using affiliates.
n. Write reminder emails for attendees.
o. 15 minutes before teleseminar lock up pets, turn off phone ringers, go to the bathroom. Visualize a smooth informative call. Jump around or dance to get your energy up. When dialing in, press *70 to turn off call waiting.
p. After call, create thank you Autoresponder for attendees. Let them know when the audio is available for download.
q. If you’re turning this into a product, you should have it transcribed. I use Elizabeth Douglas at e-douglas@sbcglobal.net. Expect 3-5 days turnaround from most transcriptionists.

What matters most to YOU?

November 25th, 2008

How do you find out what’s inside yourself? Milton Erickson says “You know more than you know that you know.”

The holidays are creeping near which always makes me reflective. Since I try pretty hard to bring more balance into my life and work, the end of year is time to give myself a report card to see how I really did. Well, it was a pretty good year, I have to say.

Most of this year has been focused on downloading my awesome workshop, *The She Factor: How to Find, Catch, and Keep Your Share of the Female Market.* Funny but when I first started investigating on how women make buying decisions way differently than guys, I was flabbergasted. Then when I started getting the inkling that different buying stages relate to different chakras and colors. Well I had to wonder if I was just totally off my rocker.

But the truth is I have a deeply spiritual connection and when I allowed it to come forth it DID! (I used to be an exceptional massage therapist while I was acting, even getting to the stage where I could see auras when I did body work.)

So I held two Workshops for *The She Factor* and am 90% done with the book version. Actually the best part of this year has been LETTING GO of things and leaving space for the magic to happen.

I realized I LOVE WRITING COPY. I know that sounds crazy but after turning down many clients for the past few years in order to teach entrepreneurs how to master this skill for themselves, I felt an emptiness in not taking on more personal clients. So for the first time in quite awhile, Red Hot Copy has a few openings for copywriting.

Even though I’m very girlie, I love to play with the guys. As the only female on John Carlton’s copywriting faculty for his *Simple Writing System,* I have a great time in the faculty lounge burping and cussing like the rest of ‘em.

Plus I’ve made lifelong friends and supporters with my fabulous mastermind group. My husband and I have never connected more deeply. My kids are getting good grades and generally doing well in life. I have terrific girlfriends (even if most of them don’t understand what I do for a living.) My dog, Shadow, is the most lovable, energetic mutt on the planet and always makes me smile. I even have an understanding with my finicky cat, Hallee. I lived out my childhood dream to own a horse this year. (Actually I leased her, which is way better than owning one.)

Life is just a blessing.

How about you? What’s important in your life? Ready to find out? Here’s a little exercise I’m taking with me as a conversation starter this holiday season.

As Stephen Covey says, clarify what is most important in your life. Decide what is most worthwhile to you. Knowing what is most valuable to you gives you direction in life.

Rank each in order from 1-10 (1 being least important and 10 being most important).

  • Career
  • Health
  • Home
  • Family
  • Spirituality
  • Finances
  • Leisure
  • Learning
  • Creativity
  • Communication
  • This should give you a fair assessment of what your priorities are and where you want to be. Now what are you most grateful for? Make a list of 10 things and write them down. Finally don’t forget how far you’ve come. Make a list of 10 of your proudest accomplishments for this year.

If you feel so inclined, go ahead and comment here. I’d love to hear what you think.

Remember, we all have the same 24 hours. Some of us feel as though we have no time at all. While others manage to get their work done and still have enough time left over to enjoy themselves. Me? I’m a work in progress. Sometimes I get it right. Sometimes I don’t. But I’m always trying, doing the best I can. Happy holidays to you!

The search for Bride 2.0 has begun!

    November 20th, 2008

Can Web 2.0 and social networking stimulate a struggling economy, make 3 brides social media super stars and prove that by simply asking for help the internet and wedding related communities will step up and lend a helping hand? Check out this cool video to learn more about this concept: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sp9NU8t1Bls

This concept is the brainchild of wedding planner Ciara Daykin. Visit her website at www.planetplanswedding.com to sign up for her free report “10 Individuals Who Changed The World With One Idea” (and it’s not the regular crowd you might think of at first). Don’t forget to join the facebook page Planet Plans Wedding to participate in this social experiment.

Book Authors: You Wanna to Hear This…

    November 19th, 2008

I’m soooo excited about today! FINALLY I get to interview my pal, Sandy Grason, about how to get actual celebrity endorsements for your book (even before it’s finished). I’m especially interested because MY book, *The She Factor* is about 80% done. She was able to get endorsements from celebs like Deepak Choprah, Louise Hay, and Mark Victor Hansen. Check out the fun video we did to talk about it when we were in town together. (She lives in Florida and I’m in California….gotta love the virtual world!)

This is a test for *The She Factor*

Halloween Winners and a Unadvertised BONUS for YOU!

    November 2nd, 2008

The call-in coaching on Friday was so much fun for me. Everyone who called the special number got exactly 10 minutes of free coaching about their business with me. When people got through the busy signal they were so delighted…like they won a radio prize. The best part was they were all open to hearing how to improve their businesses and I feel happy knowing each of them got a list of several things to change with their businesses that will likely start showing profits right away. (I forget sometimes how much experience I really have in marketing, ya know. When you exercise the muscle everyday, you don’t tend to think much about it. Pretty cool.)

    So anyway, thanks for playing!

Now for the Halloween picture winners. THAT was a tough decision. If you recall, I promised to post the top five yet there were dozens of entries. (Sorry if I didn’t get yours up here. It was not an easy choice.) Let’s count ‘em down…

    Number Five:

Adler and Nadia, the natty bichons

    Bichons

    Number Four:

    Hannah Montana in drag!

Hannah Montana in drag by Jordan

    Number Three:

    Ducky Bella Gratwohl

    Tracy Montana's granddaughter

    Number Two:

    NOT Joe the Plumber…Mario Bros.

    No plumber cracks here!

    Number One:

THE ECONOMY - Elise Morgan’s super clever costume, complete with toilet seat (no relation)

She thought this up on her own!

    Honorable Mention:

Wildlife being chased by Sarah Palin. If you look closely at the top you can see a toy helicopter with a doll inside. These guys aren’t my subscribers…met them on Halloween but they made me laugh.

    Run, moose, run!

My Swashbuckling Costume and John being Evil:

Finally, my costume seems so underwhelming next to the creative ones I saw but here goes…

    LoMo and Jo

It was quite the fun time. Thanks again to all who participated in the Halloween contest.

Finally a shameless plug for my workshop, *The She Factor* coming up in a week. We still have 7 seats left. Callers who made it through the Friday lottery were offered a special unadvertised bonus worth $750 for signing up by Monday.

Whether you got through on the phone or NOT, and are interested in working together November 10-12 please send me an email to redhotpix@gmail.com BEFORE the end of the day Monday, November 3. Details about the workshop are at *The She Factor.*
