We definitely worked hard at our Elite Retreat. But we played hard too!

I treated my gang to a limo ride from the Portofino in Redondo to the exclusive Magic Castle Club - a private club just for magicians in a legendary Hollywood mansion steeped in secrets and legends. The Magic Castle is a bit of old time, glamourous Hollywood. It is one of the few places in Los Angeles that require a jacket and tie. The women can wear pantsuits with matching blazers. Otherwise, dresses are preferred.

John broke out the champagne for us - Veuve Cliquot which I prefer over Cristal in a blind taste test

We all had dinner in the Houdini seance room where they actually hold seances once a week to conjure up old Harry. Shhh! The pix we snapped were all taken BEFORE we were informed there was to be no photography per the Cary Grant rule. Apparently Cary didn’t appreciate the other guests taking his photo when he wanted a night out on the town.

After dinner we took in a couple of impressive magic shows. By the end of the night we were all wiped out. I had the limo pull up so I could take a nap while the rest of the group watched one final show.
