I actually ate raw fish!

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

I’m not a big fan of sushi, even though my darling husband is. Last night I had a dinner meeting with my mentor, Joe Polish, my idol, Bill Phillips (”Body for Life”) and some other friends. We went out to a restaurant called KOI. I actually went online beforehand to prepare for what I would order (knowing it was mostly known for its sushi). I had planned to get either the cooked shrimp or possibly the chicken.

Once we got there and were seated, food started arriving. I still don’t know who was in charge of the ordering, but my suspicion is it was Bill. The first item was some raw fish under some crunchie onions. I decided I would be adventurous and eat whatever was brought.

Guess what? It was delectable! I loved it. I think it was albacore.

The next dish was some seared ahi with jalapeno slices. Yummy! There was raw beef, real crabmeat (not imitation) wrapped in soy paper, and so many other things I never would have ordered. I loved the entire meal!

Here is Tim Ringgold, Joe Polish, Dean Graziosi, me, and Bill Phillips.
Of course the company was amazing. We were supposed to discuss business but got off on several ethereal tangents instead. It was a remarkable evening, but it didn’t end there.

Joe is a good friend of Bill’s and asked if we could go back and visit his home. Now I’ve been to a lot of mansions living in California, but NOTHING as palatial as Bill’s estate. Not that it will do it justice but you can visit Joe’s site and see some of the pix from a previous visit.

How cool is that? I remember falling in love with his writing style and his ease of working self-care into your lifestyle. He’s brilliant and I can’t wait to meet him in person. Special thanks to Joe Polish for setting this up. Stay tuned for pictures…
